The ActivitiesIn Krakow, the part of the project dedicated to "Memory" has come to an end. From there on, our "journey toward Europe" continued with the work upon present and future. After the Krakow stage, each delegation has been assigned a theme. Themes are the matters we regard to as fundamental for the construction of European future, and the range of matters goes from rights to justice, from environment to economy, from religion to culture. See Themes for the list of themes assigned to delegations. WorkshopsThe working days during the Campus were organized in workshop sessions. Each session consisted in six workshops, and each workshop concerned a theme. In order to make the discussion easier -- as the themes are very wide and complex -- two sub-themes have been chosen for each theme. Each delegation had the task of preparing a workshop on the theme assigned. At the Campus, however, only two members from each delegation did present the workshop to the other attendants, while the others members of the same delegation were divided through the other workshops being held at the same time. This way, each participant had the opportunity to prepare one workshop, and to attend other three in first person. After the presentation of the theme and sub-themes, the attendants divided in smaller groups to discuss the sub-themes, and the objective of the discussion was, besides sharing everyone's minds upon the matter discussed, to identify some questions that participants considered as particularly important for the definition of "our ideal Europe". Online voteThe questions were immediately transformed in multiple-answer questionnaires that were posted on an intranet website. When each workshop session was over, a voting session was open. All participants were asked to fill these online polls in. The results of vote were then published at the end of the voting sessions. All results are now being gathered together, and this material will constitute the basis of our "political manifesto". In the next stage of the project, we will use this "platform" as the ground upon which to build the document to become the final product of the project. We regard at this system as the most important educational device of the project, as each step of the process is built as much as possible with the participation of everybody. The combination of groupwork, ICTs, informal education techniques, will form an experiment of collective, participatory, live democracy. |
